The Water Crisis in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is home to over 180 million people, many of whom lack access to safe drinking water. Climate change has intensified flooding, land erosion, and drought, placing extreme pressure on water and sanitation systems.

According to the World Health Organization, 60% of the population is exposed to unsafe drinking water, putting millions at daily risk.

Why Clean Water Is Not Accessible

Water availability in Bangladesh fluctuates throughout the year. Monsoon seasons contaminate water sources, while dry seasons bring severe shortages. Poor communities do not have the financial ability to install water wells, leaving families dependent on unsafe sources.

The Challenge in Hill and Remote Areas

In hill and remote regions, standard tube wells are not suitable. These areas require deep water wells up to 100 metres, which are significantly more expensive and impossible for local communities to afford.

As a result, entire villages continue to suffer from water scarcity and waterborne diseases.

Our Solution: Deep Water Wells

This project provides 100m deep water wells, along with basic sanitation support, to vulnerable and conflict-displaced communities. The initiative restores access to safe drinking water while improving health, dignity, and wellbeing.

Sustainable Impact Through WASH Programs

Through a structured WASH program, supported by Sadaqa Welfare Fund and local partners, this project improves quality of life for families, children, and elderly people by delivering long-term, sustainable water solutions.
