Moorooka Mosque has been a cornerstone of the multicultural, African, Moorooka, and southern Brisbane Muslim community since the late 2000s. It provides a place for daily prayers, Jummah, Islamic studies, and essential community programmes. Established by influential leaders who recognised the high Muslim population in Moorooka, they saw the urgent need for a dedicated mosque to serve the growing community.
Over the years, Moorooka Mosque has relocated multiple times along Beaudesert Road, Moorooka, to accommodate the increasing congregation. After many struggles with relocation, the community was blessed to finally acquire a former church and adjacent land in the mid-2010s, converting it into the current Moorooka Mosque. Now, we need your support to clear our existing debt so we can focus on the future.
✅ Pay off the mosque’s outstanding debt.
✅ Expand the mosque to accommodate our growing community.
✅ Upgrade essential facilities, including the wudhu area.
✅ Build new facilities such as showers and extra toilets.
Every donation, big or small, will help us reach this goal and ensure the mosque can continue to provide for the community.
Moorooka Mosque is one of the most multicultural mosques in Brisbane, with a strong presence from the Somali, Sudanese, Eritrean, and other African communities. It plays a vital role in supporting local Muslim businesses and the wider Muslim community.
